Bailey Bridge
Here is an unusual piece of work we carried out recently on a “Bailey Bridge” which was quite technical in its nature. A Bailey bridge is a portable truss bridge, designed for use by Military Engineering units to bridge up to 60 m (200 ft) gaps and can take the weight of Tanks.
This one, being located in Beckenham Kent, required a scaffold so repairs and painting could be carried out. Access was needed to the underneath and the sides so it was necessary to Span over the river using prefabricated beams and construct the scaffold up from those.
